Herbert lawson, guelph, ontario- 1887
This black gentleman was the 2nd youngest son of henry dangerfield lawson and sophia, a
brother of our grandmother ellen jewell, he married annabelle hisson and produced one child, a
son called hap.
Herbert lawson was known affectionately as “herb” among his peers. Our uncle herb worked as
a plasterer-painter and made his living in and around guelph where he was widely known.
He was a happy, cheerful person who was consistently positive and had a bright twinkle in his
eye. His home was on essex street not far from the british methodist episcopal church.
